UNEP-WCMC’s 2025 Impact Report highlights how science, partnerships and collaboration are transforming ambition into action for nature and people. Countries, companies and communities are increasingly understanding and acting on the shared reliance that they all have on the natural world.

During 2025, UNEP-WCMC fine-tuned leading tools and catalyzed their widespread adoption. It shared knowledge and provided guidance that galvanized change in governments, companies and communities. It steered international negotiations to bring about valuable protections for threatened species.

The Report contains multiple examples of how determination, collaboration and scientific rigour continue to move the needle.
