Miles, L., Grainger, A., Phillips, O. (2004). The impact of global climate change on tropical forest biodiversity in Amazonia. Global Ecology and Biogeography 13(6): 553-565. DOI: 10.1111/j.1466-822X.2004.00105.x
This paper modelled the long-term trends in plant species distributions in response to predicted changes in global climate. The authors concluded that to maintain the greatest resilience of Amazonian biodiversity to climate change, highest priority should be given to strengthening and extending protected areas in western Amazonia that encompass lowland and montane forests.
