UNEP (2015). Sourcebook of opportunities for enhancing cooperation among the Biodiversity-related Conventions at national and regional levels. United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Nairobi, Kenya.
The aim of the Sourcebook is to provide National Focal Points of the major Biodiversity-related Conventions as well as other stakeholders working on these conventions, with options to achieve enhanced implementation of the conventions through enhanced cooperation. The final publication showcases 63 national/regional examples within six themes: i) institutional arrangements, ii) information management and reporting, iii) the science-policy interface, iv) capacity building, v) The Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020, the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and NBSAPs, and vi) financial resource mobilization and utilization. Building up on these case studies, options to overcome barriers and challenges have been identified and key lessons learnt are outlined that could be applied to enhance coordination and cooperation at the national level.
