UNEP-WCMC. (2015). Planning for REDD+ benefits beyond carbon. Cambridge (UK): United Nations Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre.
The flyer describes the work on REDD+ planning conducted by UNEP-WCMC on behalf of the UN-REDD Programme. After summarising the importance of using spatial analyses to include environmental and social benefits into REDD+ plans and the capacity building training conducted with more than 20 countries, three case studies are presented. One on the use of spatial analyses in informing REDD+ strategies in Cross River State (Nigeria), a second one on the combination of participatory approaches and integrated land use planning for REDD+ planning in Viet Nam and finally the policy impact of non-carbon benefits analyses in Costa Rica.
